Yesterday at Prosperity School
When visiting Prosperity School Bed &
Breakfast, look for the postcard over the desk in
the downstairs hall. It shows the current
building, alongside a frame building that also
housed student classrooms. The message on
the back reads: "Hello Nell-
This is the school where I go..the X is my room.
I like it fine only Latin is real hard."
Signed, Ethel R. The recipient was one Miss
Nellie T., Gainsville, Texas. Postmarked 1908

Miss "Hazel"
Hazel (Brooks) Brock, taught at Prosperity
School in the early days. She was born June
24th, 1909, and passed on to her reward on
July 4th, 1991. Information gratefully received
from her sister-in-law, Doris, in 2002.

Recent events at the B & B...
We have seen three batches of Robins raised in our yard, 2 on the deck!
The first Metaphysical Fair was held in the B&B on April 19th, 2008.
A visit on June 29th, 2008, from Dan Terry, author/police officer from the
St. Louis area. This B&B is featured in Chapter 5 in his newest book! We
have copies of his book for sale at the B&B. Prosperity School B&B also
has been featured in several other books!
Psychic Fair held here on Saturday, September 13th, 2008.
Author Dan Terry held a Book Signing here on October 12th, 2008!
Deer come into the yard to feed in Spring of 2009.
Janet and their daughter, Trudy, just returned from an Alaskan cruise,
8-28-10! We saw Grizzly bears, whales, Bald Eagles, sea lions & seals!

Prosperity School Bed & Breakfast has always been "GREEN!"
Prosperity School B & B has been "Green" since the current ownership, and we are always looking
for new ways to save Mother Earth! Read on for the efforts we make to help:
We recycle paper, plastics (including bags), glass, metals (including soda cans!) and cardboard; in
each room are ceramic mugs for coffee and glass drinking glasses in each bathroom; we encourage
guests to consider hanging up their towels for reuse; use of environmentally friendly TP; shower
dispensers for shampoo in the rooms with showers (to reduce use of small bottles), incandescent
bulbs were replaced with CF bulbs throughout; composting of kitchen scraps & food waste; planting
of Missouri native trees, flowers and grasses; we offer discounts to encourage multinight stays (this
decreases laundry & over-use of cleaners, and also helps you, our Guest, with gas costs! See our
Places of Interest Page for many reasons to stay more than one night ). We use dye- and
fragrance-free cleaners & detergents. There is a swing-top kitchen can by the upstairs fridge, to make
it easy for our guests to drop their rinsed cans and bottles into for recycling.
